System Design

Loudspeaker system design for festivals, arenas, theatres, corporate productions and touring shows. Systems are designed around coverage, consistency, efficiency, rigging, deployment and real-world production needs.

System Optimisation

On-site tuning, alignment, measurement and optimisation using professional tools and practical experience to make systems translate properly across the whole audience area.

CAD modelling & loudspeaker prediction

Every serious system design starts with understanding the venue. Before loudspeakers are chosen or flown, I build accurate geometry — stage positions, audience areas, balconies, roofs and obstructions — so predictions reflect the real world, not a simplified box.

I use SketchUp for CAD work: importing site context, modelling the production layout and preparing clean geometry for acoustic simulation. When venue drawings arrive as DWG files, CAD Reader helps decipher layers and dimensions before anything is rebuilt in 3D.

That model is imported into manufacturer prediction software — Soundvision, ArrayCalc, CODA System Optimiser, Martin Display and others — where arrays are positioned, angled and verified against coverage, SPL and rigging requirements before the first box leaves the warehouse.
