Sound Access Events

Software

Built by an engineer, for engineers.

Download production tools for live events — with clear instructions to get started.

Alongside engineering I have developed a real passion for software.

Like many engineers, I became frustrated by repetitive tasks, inefficient workflows and software that wasn't designed around how engineers actually work.

Rather than accepting those limitations, I started building my own tools — and making them available to download directly from here.

Release notes & how-to →

How to use

  1. 1.Download and install Loadout Planner for macOS or Windows using the steps above.
  2. 2.Launch Loadout Planner and start a new show. Save writes a plan file you can open later. Save as stores a copy under a new name. The current plan also stays on this computer.
  3. 3.On Venue, draw rooms, yards, walls, entrances and loading bays, or import a DXF or DWG. Drag a box to select several objects, then move or delete them together.
  4. 4.On Trucks, place trucks, forklifts, stages and movement arrows. Type a zoom percentage, or use Centre to bring the drawing back to the middle.
  5. 5.On Notes, set the overall crew, then assign each department. Reset clears those numbers and leaves the overall crew. Write the sheet notes with bold, italic, underline and colour.
  6. 6.Export a JPEG or PDF. Both are one A4 landscape page: crew and the layout on the left, notes on the right. The drawing fills that space.

Patch Sheet — stage plot built from a band's input list

Patch Sheet

Input lists & stage plots

Input and output lists, stage plots, stagebox and rack panels, and equipment totals in one show file. A passive split can send each channel on to FOH and monitors. Import from Excel or a band's rider PDF or Word file, print or export PDF, and share a view-only link for iPad, Mac and PC.

Download for Windows

v1.3.3 · ~105 MB · 17 Oct 2026

What's new in v1.2.12

  • Equipment list
  • Export PDF
Release notes & how-to →

How to use

  1. 1.Download and install Patch Sheet for macOS or Windows using the steps above.
  2. 2.Start a new show, or import an existing patch sheet from Excel, CSV or a band's rider PDF or Word file. Delete an act from the Inputs page when you no longer need it.
  3. 3.Fill in inputs, outputs and stageboxes. A new stagebox is 12 pair, and sockets 11 and 12 can be an input or an output. Select rows to fill a whole rack, or clear a patch you put on by mistake. Equipment, cable and stand totals update as you go.
  4. 4.When an act uses a passive split, tick it at the top of Devices. On Split patch, select the channels and number the FOH and monitor devices in one go.
  5. 5.Devices draws each console and rack as its rear panel, with the channel name on the socket. A Yamaha desk and a Rio can both be ID 1. Optocore keeps one shared ID list.
  6. 6.Build the stage plot from the input list, then print or export a PDF. Crew sheets include the stageboxes and a drawing of each rack.
  7. 7.Share gives each show its own link. On this network it works with no internet. Over the internet, anyone with the link can open inputs, outputs, the stage plot, stageboxes, racks and equipment. To edit together, send a share code and they click Join.
